Women who are new to Iyengar Yoga, and who have a normal and uncomplicated pregnancy, may begin Iyengar Yoga classes after the end of the first trimester (after week 12), and may continue with classes until week 34.

Iyengar Yoga is an excellent opportunity for expectant mothers to learn to practice asanas with greater comfort, develop strong spinal extension to make space for the breath to flow more freely.
